The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips were announced on October 30, 2024, and began shipping on November 8, 2024. These models are built for Apple Intelligence, featuring powerful new chips, a new Space Black color option, and Thunderbolt 5 ports on Pro and Max configurations.

M4 Pro and M4 Max Chips: These chips offer massive performance improvements, with features like hardware-accelerated ray tracing, a faster 16-core Neural Engine for AI tasks, and increased memory bandwidth (up to 546 GB/s for M4 Max).
Design and Color: The premium models are available in Space Black and Silver finishes, with the Space Black featuring an anodization seal designed to help reduce fingerprints.
Ports: Connectivity has been upgraded on M4 Pro and M4 Max models:
